Product Description
Pneumatic actuators use compressed air to operate a valve. Rack-and-pinion and Scotch yoke arrangements provide different torque characteristics, while double-acting and spring-return constructions address different operating and supply-loss requirements. Size the actuator using the minimum available air pressure and the valve load throughout the stroke.
Design Description
- Rack-and-pinion or Scotch yoke mechanism selected to suit the valve torque curve
- Double-acting or spring-return construction according to the required duty
- Air-stroke and spring-stroke torque checked across the full operating angle
- Fail-open or fail-closed action specified for spring-return assemblies
- Travel adjustment, mounting bracket and coupling matched to the valve
- Solenoid valve, feedback, air preparation and manual override selected as required
